Films Listed by Film Type - The WebQuote Form below lists films by popular usage - eg. solar films to control heat and glare, safety and security films, and decorative and frosted films
Films Listed by Manufacturer - Alternatively, you may select a specific film from the manufacturers' full product range
The film is pre-cut 20mm oversize at the manufacturers' warehouse (ie. 20mm larger than the window pane size you entered) and couriered directly to your home or office ready for installation.
Choose DIY Installation if you want to do the film installation yourself.
Choose Professional Installation if you want an Approved Independent Professional Film Installer in your area to do the installation. The film installer will call you to schedule the installation. Due to the volume of work referred to installers, TintingDirect.com.au has been able to negotiate a volume discount (trade price) for our customers. Approved Independent Professional Film Installers adhere to the International Standard for Visual Quality and will replace any film that has not been installed to this standard.
The film installers must comply with OH&S safe working guidelines to protect against falls and injury. Where a window pane cannot be safely accessed by step ladder and/or the top of the window is more than 3.0 metres above floor level the installer will not attempt to perform the installation. Prior physical or digital inspection of the worksite must be sought and the job approved by the installer. If, on arrival on site, the installer judges that it is unsafe to attempt to perform the installation, and the installer must return to the job at a later date with appropriate equipment to complete the installation, a call-out fee will be charged, as well as the cost to hire any equipment required to safely complete the job (equipment hire billed at cost; additional installer charges to be negotiated).
Window film installation is provided by Approved Independent Professional Film Installers in all Australian mainland capital cities and in some regional centres.
The cost depends on the size of the job and the job complexity. The film installation charge is calculated for a typical 4-sided vertical aluminium framed window found in most homes or offices that can be accessed from floor level. If your windows do not conform with that description additional installation charges may apply. If in doubt, please use our Contact Form to describe the job and attach pictures of the windows showing height from floor level. The film installer will call you to discuss your job.
When you purchase window film online and choose professional installation the film installer will contact you to schedule the installation date. The film installer is paid on job completion.
Installation workmanship is guaranteed for 12 months (This warranty is in addition to the film manufacturer's product warranty which is usually "lifetime" for residential jobs and "10 years" for commercial jobs)
Please answer the following questions to help us assess if it will take a bit longer to install the film for your job.

1. How to choose the "right" solar film for the job?
Solar Control Films reduce heat and glare, reduce fading and many films provide day-time privacy. Solar control films are graded by the amount of light that passes through the film - Visible Light Transmitted (VLT).- A VLT over 60% and the film is almost invisible: it won't change the external appearance of the building or spoil views at night - popular when you must comply with body corporate rules- A VLT less than 25% will block just enough light to provide daytime privacy without making a room "feel" dark - popular for living rooms- A VLT less than 20% will block more heat but it will make a room "feel" darker - popular for bedrooms- A VLT less than 12% will make the room "feel" very dark - popular for the home theatre and those working the night shift
Decorative and Frosted Privacy Films make the glass opaque and provide privacy both during the day and at night
Safety Films - 100 micron thick - help to prevent glass cut injury and bring normal glass up to the human impact safety standard Security Films - 150 micron thick and over - help keep the bad guys out

2. How to use WebQuote to calculate the cost of window tinting?
Please Note:1. If you selected a film (eg. a solar film for the lounge room) and require a different film in another room (eg a Frosted film in the entry or bathroom) enter all the measurements for one film and then press the "Add another film" button and a new WebQuote will be inserted for you to enter the measurements for a second, or more, films. If you selected the default (Best Buys) quote form you can add a film from a different manufacturer, however, if you selected a specific film manufacturer you can only select a different film from that manufacturer's product range.2. The 15% WebQuote discount is not available to customers following an onsite visit by a TintingDirect sales representative. It is unfair for a sales rep to visit a property and provide professional advise and then be deprived of earning an income by a customer completing the film purchase online to receive the sales commission as a discount. Customers who make an online purchase after a sales rep has visited their site will be offered the choice of paying the sales rep for their work or canceling their order and receiving a refund.
